We're back to work on our state sites --- we just finished working on Michigan at http://genealogytrails.com/mich/  and are now out west working on transcribing data for Californiahttp://genealogytrails.com/cal/
Our special focus on California is transcribing the Voters Lists from various years.  Since California doesn't have a lot of state census available, these Voters Lists help to fill that gap.  For instance, here's one from Los Angeles county:   http://genealogytrails.com/cal/la/voters/1873pg1.html   Enjoy!

If you haven't checked out our Civil War Headstone page lately, you'll want to visit to see the huge amount of progress we've made. We are actually done transcribing all files (YEAH!!!) and we have all surnames A-O proofread and ONLINE! We also have quite a few files from the remaining alpha letters online as well, so check it out at http://genealogytrails.com/cwstones/

We are ALMOST DONE with transcribing the Civil War headstones!!
The transcribing part is almost done - we have just a few more W surname files to go, and then we start concentrating on proof-reading all those transcriptions!  The data from the files is put online as webpages after each set of 5 files is proofread, so keep your eye on    http://genealogytrails.com/cwstones/  to view the files as they go up!

What are We Working On?

It's all about Civil War Headstones.  We have over 80,000 soldier names online already and when finished, it'll be well over 100,000.  These are government supplied headstones for Union soldiers and lists their service information and their burial places and dates (when known).   And did I mention this is a FREE database?
 Check it out at http://genealogytrails.com/cwstones/
